Is the CRM mobile app enough to manage trade fair leads?
HubSpot Mobile, Salesforce Mobile, Pipedrive Mobile: all modern CRMs have business card scanning features. On paper it seems the natural choice. In practice there is a problem: they are designed for the outbound salesperson, not for the trade fair context. We explain what changes.

Limit 01. Generic OCR
Mobile CRM OCR is not tuned for trade fair badges
Mobile CRMs use generic OCR (Google Cloud Vision, AWS Textract). They work well on standard business cards, less well on trade fair badges (small fonts, asymmetric layouts, QR codes to decode, photos of the badge taken at an angle). Linkly is tuned to the layouts of the main Italian and EU trade fair organizers: OCR accuracy rate ~98% vs ~85% generic.
Limit 02. Limited enrichment
Mobile CRM retrieves basic data, not the 12 fields you need
HubSpot Sales Hub Professional enriches with LinkedIn + Clearbit (basic). Salesforce with Data.com. Pipedrive with Smart Contact Data. All provide 4-6 additional fields (LinkedIn, company size, industry). Linkly queries 25+ specialized sources for deep enrichment (machine fleet, sector certifications, intent signals, revenue, funding stage). It is not competition: it is specialization.
Limit 03. Workflow not event-driven
Mobile CRM creates a Lead. That's it.
The CRM app digitizes the contact and puts it in the system. What it does NOT do: apply qualification questions configured for the specific trade fair, distinguish audiences (B2B vs B2C, dealer vs private), send automatic follow-up based on segment, track the specific event ROI.
